When not at work, Kyle is most likely enjoying the outdoors. He and his wife Paulette are accomplished mountain climbers. Together they have climbed numerous peaks throughout the U.S. and abroad. Prominent high points include the 19,348 ft. active volcano Cotopaxi in Ecuador, Mount Rainier (14,410 ft.), Mount Whitney (14,491 ft.) as well as 44 of the 54 highest peaks of Colorado, known as the 14ers. Kyle is also a competitive cyclist and 6-time finisher of the grueling Leadville Trail 100 (mile) mountain bike race. Kyle and Paulette have two sons, Anderson and Evan.
