RECITAL RECORDING RATES
For Solo and Duo Recitals
Standard AFC Recital Recording: $85
Includes 2 CD masters of the performance

The process: It all starts with 2 high quality German microphones placed in a prime location, hopefully away from audience noise, yet far back enough to capture both you and the sound of the hall. The microphones are powered by a high quality mic pre-amp which takes the signal, amplifies it and then converts it to a 24 bit digital audio stream. The digital audio is then recorded redundantly on 2 sources. For most recitals, the 2 microphones will provide high quality results, yet in some situations additional mics may be used. Once the recital has been recorded the entire concert is edited, dead space is deleted, overall levels are adjusted, then track numbers are added. Finally, the master CDs are created.
Video Recording: add $75

The process: A broadcast quality video camera with professional audio inputs is used to capture your recital. The camera is fed the exact same audio signal which is being recorded for your CD. The video and audio signal is recorded to mini-dv tape and also recorded on the fly to recordable DVD media. The end result is a very high quality archive of your performance.
BOOKING
Please book early. (Like when you have set a performance date.) To book your recital, email your recital date, time, instrument, and phone number at least 14 days prior to the performance date. There is an additional $10 fee for late bookings. Be sure to let us know if your recital is scheduled at the same time as another KSU event or if you are giving a recital at an unusual time, such as when school is not in session.

After checking our availability, we will send an email verifying that your recital has been added to the schedule. You can also check the schedule here.
CONFIRMATION
We strongly recommend that you contact us the week of your recital to confirm that everything is a go. At this time you may wish to talk about details concerning your performance that might impact the recording. You may leave a message with us, drop an email or catch us a another KSU event. We really want to make sure there is no confusion and that we will show up to record your performance at the correct time and place. Unfortunately mistakes do happen and this final contact is meant to help alleviate any possible confusion.
PAYMENT
Please have your payment ready before the recital starts.
CD PICKUP
Expect edited master CDs/DVDs within one week after your recital date. Pick-up in the mailbox of Kyle Arnold at McCain 109B or by other arrangement.
