BOOKING
Please book as early as possible. To book your recital, email your recital date, time, instrument, and phone number at least 14 days prior to the performance date. (when you book the hall) After checking our availability, we will email back verifying that the recital has been added to our schedule. If your recital is being held at the same time as another KSU event we may be unable to video your event.
CONFIRMATION
We recommend that you contact us the week of your recital to confirm that everything is a go. At this time you may wish to talk about details concerning your performance that might impact the recording. You may leave a message with us, drop an email or catch us at another KSU event. We really want to make sure there is no confusion and that we will show up to record your performance at the correct time and place. Unfortunately mistakes do happen and this final contact is meant to help alleviate any possible confusion.
CD PICKUP
Expect edited master CDs/DVDs approximately one week after your recital date. Pick-up in the mailbox of Kyle Arnold at McCain 109B or by other arrangement.

AUDITION RECORDINGSPlease contact us for pricing information.
For a standard audition recording which includes 20-40 minutes of recording time and 30-40 minutes for editing and CD preparation. We can either record in AFC or at our studio. For KSU music students & classical music in general we often suggest recording in AFC, due to the large "natural" acoustic space. In the studio, the sound is much drier. To make a recording sound like AFC more time must be spent adding reverb and mixing. In most cases it's more efficient for everyone to record in AFC.
When to record:
The easiest and quietest time to record a session in AFC is late evening preferably after a standard 7:30 pm recital. (Recording around 9 pm) You can look at the schedule (calendar tab) to see when we'll be working in AFC.
How the session works:
Recording:
We'll start with a brief sound check, then we start the recorder and quietly sit in the back and take notes. You can hopefully forget about us, and focus on the music. Depending on how difficult the material is, plan to make 2-3 passes of each movement or part.
Listen, Edit & Burn CD:
After recording, we can then work on editing (if needed). You'll be able to listen through and pick the sections you need. (You may already know this from having just played it.) We will then do the editing, make the CD and either have it finished right away or in some cases the next day.
Faculty Recitals:
The location recording schedule is posted on the Arnold Sound website. (See Calendar Tab) It is strongly recommended you verify your event is correctly scheduled and that you inform Kyle of any special recording requirements should they exist.

Why should I have my recital professionally recorded?
Giving a recital is a very special one-time event. It may only last an hour, yet represents years work. You (and your family) will certainly want to remember and revisit this special event in the future. A high quality recording will be a great archive, yet it can also be a tremendous learning tool. As a full time audio engineer for many years, and a K-State music department graduate, Kyle Arnold can be trusted to make a great sounding recording. His collection of recording tools are truly the best money can buy, yet due to the long term arrangement with the music department, recording fees are low. Hire ASR and you'll have a professional recording and a lasting document of your recital.
Can you record my recital somewhere other than AFC?
Sure. Forum Hall, McCain Auditorium, and the MAC are popular alternatives in Manhattan.
My recital is scheduled at the same time as another KSU event. Can you record multiple events at once?
Yes, we have the staff and equipment to record multiple events simultaneously. Please be sure to book early so that proper arraignments can be made.
Can you record my recital somewhere other than All Faiths Chapel?
Yes. Our equipments is totally portable.
I'd like to have a P.A. system for my recital and might like to use close microphones for a few instruments. Can you help with that?
Yes.
Do you have a drum shield?
Yes.
I was thinking about recording a studio multi-track project. Can you do that?
You bet. We've produced and recorded many acoustic as well as pop artists and groups in addition to recording classical artists and collegiate groups. We have a well equipped studio specifically designed to be a fun and efficient place to create music. We have student discounts! Call (785) 776-9902 for more information.
I have audio editing software, I just don't have very good microphones and recording equipment. Can you help with only the recording of my band and let me do the rest?
Yes. We'd call that a tracking session. We can schedule a recording time either in our studio or at a location you choose. When we are finished recording we can provide our recording files.
